Mathias Cormann of Australia is to become the sixth secretary-general of the OECD. Mr Cormann will take up his five year-term on 1 June 2021, and will succeed OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria, who concludes 15 years at the helm of the organisation. The OECD Council made the announcement on 15 March, following a seven-month selection process.
